About the Conference

Pushing the boundaries of knowledge and changing the world for the better — that is nothing less than the mission of science. Explaining complex processes that shape our lives, along with sharing the latest findings on the environment, health, or technology, helps us understand the world and make informed decisions. Science communication plays a crucial role in this: without clear and accessible language, scientific results and well-intentioned recommendations remain locked away in a “club of the chosen few.”

Science needs to be heard and seen — not least because it is funded by public money, and the public has the right to understand the benefits of that support. Fascinating discoveries and new solutions also motivate and inspire young people to develop their talents and perhaps even pursue a research career themselves.

Science communication is our mission. As the Czech Academy of Sciences and the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University, we aim to create a space for meeting, sharing, and strengthening connections among key actors in science communication. In collaboration with SciComHub, a professional platform for science communicators, we organized the first Science Communication 360° conference in 2025 — and we plan to continue as long as it’s possible.

The main theme of the second year will be Institutions and Systems that Strengthen Science Communication. Together, we will explore scenarios for creating an environment in which scientists can safely and meaningfully engage in communication without losing accuracy or expertise.

We invite science communicators, PR specialists, and researchers interested in presenting their work to the public — both senior experts and those just starting their scientific careers. Let’s come together to think about how to communicate science collaboratively, openly, and clearly. Let’s inspire one another with our experiences, ideas, and diverse perspectives. Let the voice of science be heard loud and clear.
